To address the growing concern about the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families left behind in the country, the Center for Research and Communication (CRC) will hold a conference on “Keeping the OFW Family Together” at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) in Pasig City on March 21, 2018. The conference aims to engage government agencies, private recruitment agencies, NGOs, the business sector, and others involved in the migration industry, OFWs and their families, members of academic community and associations, and institutions on marriage and family, in a one-day discussion on the condition of OFW families and ways to keep them together despite the space and time that separate them. The book series – consisting primarily of research papers, speeches, conference proceedings, and abstracts of student theses concerning OFWs – provide a comprehensive view of overseas Filipino workers’ concerns such as recruitment and deployment, skills training, worker protection, wage and compensation, social protection, reintegration, and entrepreneurship.
